Three of my classmates (Blum Martin, Grabherr Simon, Groicher Martin) and I decided to work on diploma project. Doing such a project gives us a very good insight into real working life. We got one at Blum in Höchst. At the first meeting at Blum we had the opportunity to choose a project. We decided to develop a stationary mounting fixture. This fixture is necessary to change tools of a deep drawing machine. The main advantage of the mounting fixture is to support craftsmen and to avoid accidents. This handling system has to fulfil a lot of duties. For example to decrease the assembly time compared to the current time needed without a mounting fixture. Another task is that it should be handled by one craftsman only. One of our biggest problems is that the operating space is very small. That’s why this system has to be very compact. To accelerate the developing steps each project member is assigned to work on a part by himself.

1998 - Schelling Anlagenbau Schwarzach. There I worked in the assembly shop. First I had to work in the pre-assembly shop and after that I was employed in the end-assembly shop.
2000 - Samaplast, ST. Margrethen. This company uses plastic or carbon fibre reinforced resins.
